Pros

- High quality paid training (8 weeks) - SDETs earn an ISTQB Certification, paid for by Sparta Global - Contracted out to multiple companies over 2 years (good experience) - Still paid the same salary between contracts (£19k during training, £23k after training, £26k after a year) - Interview training provided - Can train people from any level of experience

Cons

- Sparta Global makes money through the salary you earn from the companies you are contracted out to. This means you could be working a £45k salary job for £23k - No guarantee of work. If they can't find you a contract within 2 months, they are within legal rights to terminate your contract with 4 weeks notice - Training is intense, goes from fairly easy to very stressful very fast - Not very clear on how benefits work

Hello and thank you for leaving a review! It's great to see you sharing the high quality, funded and paid training we provide, business acumen skills support, interview help and certifications that our Spartans can access before they even begin working. And yes, we can provide all of this to people who have shown no prior tech experience or education. We are incredibly proud to be supporting people from diverse backgrounds and giving everyone a fair chance to access tech careers. Sparta Global is not a charity, we are a commercial business that must make profit in order to provide free and paid technology training to people who simply cannot access technology careers and support in any other way. That being said, we invest a significant amount in each individual Spartan we select to join our programme, before they even begin working on site. There is a lot of risk and cost for us - but it is the right thing to do to ensure we are an inclusive and fair employer. That being said, suggesting our Spartans are working a job for £23k that is actually worth a £45k salary is ludicrous. Our Spartans are people in the early stages of their career - with under 12 months experience, 6-10 weeks of full time training and now working in highly sought after and competitive company positions. If someone comes through our Academy with prior experience, they will have joined us because they were still struggling to access the roles and needed our network of client partners. Our salaries reflect the company's investment in each Spartan, their limited experience and their starter position. They will see exceptional salary increases from this point in line with their experience. Spartans are free to leave our contract at any point - not after two months. However, Sparta Global is a careers programme, leaving us before even beginning work means you will have just a few weeks of training to show to potential employers and will be looking to secure work in a very temperamental market with no support (pastoral or professional), network, or defined career pathway. All things we offer. We encourage all of our Spartans to trust deeply in our decade of operation and promise they will reap the rewards.
