Pros

Well located office in Central London with a friendly company culture and really fun good company events. Nice colleagues.

Cons

- Pay lower than market standard - No career progression beyond becoming a project manager or business analyst. - Documentation, domain and know-how tends to be in silos of knowledge (one or two people who know everything). Lack of good internal documentation. - Excessive focus on speed, leaving the quality of the code, design and testing behind, which becomes extra support, debug, patching and maintenance work for the team (too many legacy systems have this issue). - Too much context switching (interruptions and juggling between different tasks and roles during the day) leads to burnout. - Although there are good managers, other will do micromanagement and constant priority changes.

Pros

Soundmouse is your heaven if you're a person with a can-do attitude, you like to work hard and party harder, you like challenges and can manage yourself and your time based on the project. You don't mind working a bit late if required while at the same time, if you're less busy and you want to go to the gym or just stroll around to clear your mind and relax, well.... here, you can. A very inclusive culture. It's the people of Soundmouse that make it what it is. It's got a chill, family vibe and one can easily fall in love with the company. The Directors are awesome and know how to party. Soundmouse is a unicorn really. If you're there, consider yourself very very lucky. The pay is decent and as per market or a bit under at times but when you're there you don't mind it. The work ethic totally compensates for that. The office is right near Soho and there's so much to do at lunch time or if you intend to stay back after work. Friday 5 pm drinks are taken seriously and drink at your work desk is a common sight, you don't need to be shy about it. Alcoholics, please take note! I've said too much :)

Cons

Micromanagement, especially if you're working on a project directly headed by the Top Management.
