Cons
There are many cons I saw once I was in the office and started my job. Upper Management does not support you and only hand down the pressure and there is no training, frequent 1:1´s or guidance. All they care about is getting the number in and nano (micro) manage the team to an extend that the mood on the floor is below 0! The targets are ridiculously high which from the very first day of quarter gets people demotivated and wondering how to get a commission paycheck. The problem here is that SolarWinds wants to be a transactional business for a products range which takes way to long to be purchased. If your number is quarter of a million a quarter and your average deal size might be max. 8K this is just impossible to get done. Absolutely no freedom for employees like no work from home policy be in before 9am and do not leave earlier than 5:30. This leads people to drop the pen straight when possible and are not willing to work longer or harder. The so famous extra mile will never be walked in SolarWinds in my opinion. Trust, Transparency, Respect or Growth Opportunities you should not expect here even though these should be the pillars of the brand new developed culture idea. It might read like a highly frustrated employee and indeed I was over promised and definitely under delivered but I want to be honest about my experience.
