Pros
Some of the people that used to work there were incredibly smart, but they are gone. Free snacks, lunch, and beverages - nice at first.
Cons
Read the previous reviews about gossip, the "club" - it's all true. After nearly 5 years, it was too much, and had taken too much of a toll on my life. The complete lack of work/life balance borders on inhumane. Your ability to advance is completely predicated on your skills to turn a blind eye to unprofessional and unethical practices as well as suck up to the unskilled people that manage you. Micro-managing takes on a new definition at SolarWinds. If you think you've been micromanaged before, you will experience it on a level beyond your comprehension here. New ideas are not accepted or embraced. The products are great. In fact, that is what makes this company so tragic. Customers put up with their abusive behavior because the software works and does a good job - or at least used to. The sales and marketing for this company need to be overhauled. It's used car sales to the extreme. There used to be an incredible amount of smart people that worked at SolarWinds, it was what made me love working there at first. Those people have been driven out and replaced by yes "men" who have any semblance of courage brow beat out of them. Those that do question are forced out.
