Pros

You’ll have the pleasure of working with a few, truly exceptional people. Soko Glam offers free coffee and water to drink, air to breathe, and cereal to eat. Twice a month “team talks” are held which are mostly fun and interactive. HR is aware of the toxic culture and claims to actively be working towards fixing it. Paychecks are consistent , and they offer a gym reimbursement and commuter benefits.

Cons

There are too few exceptional people to work with. The office space in itself is the equivalent of working in a graveyard. It’s eerily quiet (mostly due to the ongoing tension between teams or within teams). The turnover rate is staggering. The best employees and talent have either left already or are avidly looking elsewhere. Upper management will pretend to care about your growth and development, yet provide you with no opportunities to grow or develop. While some promotions are earned, others are given strictly because of inner office relationships. Workloads are dispersed unevenly (with some employees doing little to no work at all). Certain employees lack a basic level of professionalism, and company rules are not applied equally. Be wary of any recent positive reviews, as employees were “encouraged” (I.e. forced) to write one. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences in my career thus far. Soko Glam was not a positive experience. Do your career a favor and look elsewhere.
