Pros
Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication, written and organizational skills. Ability to understand where people have been and the challenges of changing behaviors, people and places. My employment, education and life experiences have guided me with helping people overcome life's challenges. I use a strength-based perspective when working with families, focusing on what a person can do and giving them attainable goals and positive reinforcement.
Cons
Can be a very stressful working environment when dealing with at-risk populations, especially when families don't immediately grasp concepts for better living or are resistant to change. Change can be difficult, especially, if parents have been operating in a destructive node for a lengthy time or parents/children have developmental, mental, and/or substance abuse challenges themselves.
