Pros

Well known Scottish charity with meaningful vision to end homelessness. Kind and supportive colleagues - good variation of skills and experience across the team. Values creativity and new ideas. Good work life balance (out with peak periods) with flexibility around home working. Dog friendly office. Free parking available nearby the office.

Cons

Team is not resourced well enough to deliver the quantity and standard of work. Lack of transparency from upper management and poor communication overall. Poor strategic planning and lack of organisational strategy. Unsustainable overtime hours during peak periods, and very little considerations to mental health of employees. Micromanaging, bullying and discriminatory behaviour by manager - not aligned to organisational values and behaviours. Office is quiet, with majority of employees continuing to work mainly from home. Poor onboarding/induction process - didn't receive all of the 'basic' technical equipment for working when starting (and for some time afterwards). Outdated or non-existent staff policies. Lack of benefits - which aren't communicated to employees. Lack of development opportunities. Staff turnover has been considerably high over the last period - with high volumes of workload being placed on more junior members of the team with no compensation. Overall, organisation feels out of its depth.
