Pros

- Pay for specialists is typically over market value. - Most of the PM team and specialists are great people working hard and collaborating in spite of the leadership team. - Can be a great resume addition or salary increase. As SoMe really needs specialists, they'd likely hire a junior for a senior position and this could be a great way to improve your current outlook if necessary. - The office is nice and in a good location.

Cons

- Pay for specialists is typically over market value because they desperately need workers due to high turnover, poor office management, lack of rapport, and deliberately hiding company knowledge from employees. - Lack of marketing knowledge from a leadership standpoint. The ones making the decisions have little know how of what it actually takes to accomplish/envision any of the digital marketing mediums, leading to a huge disconnect, unkept promises, and everyone angry. Note: one of the main leaders with actual digital marketing knowledge has recently left the company. - It runs very differently from other marketing agencies, but not in a charming or growth-focused way. While they'd likely spin it as "it's because we work harder and get the job done better" and other marketing platitudes, the leadership team is just over the top frankly and creates a horrendous culture. Think something along the lines of "you must clock 9 hours a day at least" in a time tracking software and micromanaging every single bit of that regularly. - Very thin skin. Even looking on here, you can see a positive review rebuttal days after a negative one instead of management just replying to the considerations. I have no inside knowledge to know if they're gamed reviews, but it seems curious that it happened nearly every time following a poor review.

Pros

I worked for a year as an Account Manager at SoMe before I had to leave only for personal reasons. I felt like I have learnt more there in a year than in the 2 years I've spent in the 2 biggest marketing agency worldwide. The company is still young and it's up to you and your team (of amazing talents) to refine processes to make the best of it. Specialists are brilliant and work together to optimize each and every campaign. The clients are super different from one another which allows for creative strategies to be built for each of them so you don't feel like doing the same thing over and over again. If you feel like exploring another branch of marketing that the one you were hired for, SoMe will always try and accommodate for you to learn. All kind of operations are organized to build team spirit and make sure communication is constantly flowing.

Cons

Yes, the company is getting used to getting bigger so processes are not perfect. You may have to work long hours cause in this adjustment phase all task are not perfectly accounted for but you will learn a ton and the management doors will always be open to discuss.

Pros

Cool people. They paid me what I was worth.

Cons

Having worked in small and large agencies SoMe Connect makes everything 100x harder than it needs to be. The top dogs in leadership have all been grandfathered into their positions not because they're masters of their crafts but because they've been at the company the longest. This isn't always a bad thing however, in this instance, they refuse to learn anything new or take advice, feedback, or approach literally anything with a different lens that may make their job and those they work with easier. The "do it because I said to do it" and "I want it this way" mentality not only limits leaderships ability to grow and learn but it really stifles and frankly enrages the specialists. It's not a supportive culture, it's not a fun place to come into work every day. You have chores most of which other employees ignore leaving the kitchen and other communal work spaces a messy disaster. Clean your own dishes. They over work everyone, expect you to be on call, all the time, whenever they're needed which is absolutely understandable, but then you get docked for leaving work 15 minutes early to catch an appointment or scolded for taking sick days to care for terminally sick family members.
