Pros

High standards, stable, generous pay. Telecommuting allowed in certain jobs. Excellent benefits. Some leaders are amazing, some are horrible. Whichever one you get will determine how well your experience is. Senior leadership team will keep leaders in roles long after they have demoralized and shut down a team's passion for work. The leaders who are great are fantastic and really help you feel part of the organization.

Cons

Hierarchical, bureaucratic, lacks innovation, leaders don't listen to the advice of employees. If you don't mind not having your ideas heard or having to do work that is 100% driven by corporate and hire ups without regard to understanding employee wisdom then go for it. If you want an organization that wants to hear your best ideas, practices participative leadership, doesn't label you, and creates the conditions for employees to thrive, this is not the place for you. They will crush your dreams and enthusiasm by forcing you to fit into their mold and if you cannot become like they want you to you won't succeed here. You will also work your butt off here...that means evenings and weekends. There is no work/life balance.

Pros

Very DEI focused, so would be good if you are a minority or female candidate interested in STEM fields.

Cons

Currently going through layoffs due to shortfalls in budgeting allowed by the state. California has planned for decarbonization of the state, mid to long range outlook not promising. Currently requires 4 days in the office.
