Pros
Getting a discount on tools. Respectful of family holiday time. Stock purchasing program.
Cons
Management is primarily all white guys. They have their token minorities. Management is also too far removed from the majority of their associates to understand the health hazards & true workload expected these days. Workload is 60+hours weekly, commissions % has dropped dramatically over the years & vehicle expenses are not reimbursed. $50 monthly gas voucher does not cover 50,000 + miles, wear & tear and additional required insurance. Snap on would rather their workers work more hours than hire support staff. Custom solutions is RIDICULOUSLY time consuming. Account managers are not compensated for the overload of administrative responsibilities. It’s the only company to expect account managers to have responsibilities well beyond traditional sales roles . They’re expected to be the point of contact for all quoting, process of sales, track inventory & deliveries, invoices, new customer paperwork & update tax certifications when expired, just to name a few. You’re on your own in the field. Often I have to pick up returned tools and or deliver seriously heavy loads without assistance of any kind. We don’t have warehouse buddies out here. I make a decent living but at the expense of my health & family.
