Recruiting does a great job creating an image of happy successful tech culture, but be aware it's all on the surface. Advice I wish I could have given myself before joining.
What previous reviews have said about the "Golden Children" who can do no wrong is absolutely true. There are a handful of reps, mainly on the sales side who are attached at the hip to the co-owners and will find a way to get what they want no matter what toll it takes on the entire org. I've never seen something this bad and toxic. It's truly a "squeaky wheel gets the grease" situation. Be here long enough and complain enough, and ownership will praise you and do whatever you want. Be prepared to experience this on day 1, and be prepared to risk your job if you try to get in the way. These people have more power and influence than their managers do.
Toxic levels of inter-department drama and talking behind each others backs. Because of this, there is no team culture. Teams are divided, so you better pick the right side.
The last several All-Hands company meetings let employees anonymously ask questions to Tyler and DJ and it shows how dysfunctional and toxic the culture is. People are obviously very unhappy and have legitimate concerns, but the only answers they get are "our door is always open, please come talk to us." Nothing changes.
It's hard to see how they can right the ship at this point. It's never fun to leave a job, but I'm extremely happy to not have to deal with this awful culture anymore. There are so many better opportunities out there. Talk to as many employees as you can if you are considering working here.
Lastly, pay is lower than most local tech companies. We lost many good employees and candidates because of this.
