Pros

Working at SKINNEY was truly an incredible experience. From day one, I was welcomed into a positive, fast-paced, and supportive environment where both personal and professional growth were genuinely encouraged. I've never worked at another medspa that provides so much training in sales, the technology and overall hospitality. - SKINNEY has the most updated, innovative medspa technology in the entire nation. If you truly want to learn how to use different (competitive) modalities (morpheus8, sofwav, coolsculpting)without being a NP, PA or doctor, this is the place to learn. -They have a huge following and clientele so you are always busy and not waiting around to find clients. Very easy to make sales, and they pay great. -Lots of perks (frequent outings, various pop up locations, discounts, health insurance, PTO)

Cons

- Fast paced, NY style. This job is for people who really want to grow and care about being part of a team that is building something incredible together. If you're looking for a slow paced, boring environment this is not for you. - Have to have some experience in beauty/sales&product knowledge.

Cons

Working at Skinney Medspa was one of the most disappointing and demoralizing experiences of my career. This place thrives off a culture of manipulation, toxicity, and desperation. Employees are constantly pressured to text clients from personal phones to make sales. Commissions are “lost” in accounting, or mysteriously revised in favor of the house. Paychecks rarely reflect actual hours worked, and questioning management results in retaliation or thinly veiled threats about your job security. It’s systematic, deliberate, and exploitative. Management—if you can even call it that—relies on a rotating door of underpaid employees turned “team leads” who are given just enough power to turn on each other. Instead of fostering growth or mentorship, they pit staff against one another to hit impossible sales goals, then shame or isolate those who fall behind. Gossip is encouraged, gaslighting is routine, and HR literally does not exist. In terms of the day to day as a technician, protocols are often bent or outright ignored to squeeze in more appointments, which leaves you scrambling trying to juggle 3-4 clients at once. Machines are often uncalibrated, reused without proper sanitation, and operated by overworked providers who’ve been given minimal training. A dangerous combination that has resulted in various lawsuits. Ultimately, skinney medspa is a toxic, dangerous, and unethical workplace masquerading as a luxury service provider. Do not work here unless you enjoy being underpaid, manipulated, and blamed for everything that goes wrong in a broken system. oh and you will leave here crying more often than not.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We take feedback like this seriously, especially from team members who spent a meaningful amount of time with us. As a growing company, there have been periods where our systems, structure, and communication needed to evolve to keep pace with that growth. Over time, we’ve made significant changes across training, operational processes, and team support to create a more consistent and professional environment. We want to be very clear that maintaining high standards, both in how we support our team and in how services are delivered, is a priority, and we continue to refine our processes to ensure alignment across all locations. We recognize that not every experience will reflect where we are today, but feedback like this plays an important role in helping us improve. We genuinely wish you the best in your continued career.
