3 Month Mark Review - Graphic Design/Public Relations Skin MD & Beyond Employee Review

I've been working at Skin MD and Beyond for 5 years and love going to work everyday. The majority of us have been working here a long time and we all get along really well. Although we're there to work, it doesn't feel like work because we are a tight knit group that feels like a family. We are all hardworking team players that don't really have to worry too much about drama or "cattiness". I love working with my friends and enjoy interacting with our friendly patients, the majority of who I know by name. I'm lucky to work for a successful, intelligent, skilled doctor in a beautiful medical office with coworkers that I love. Paid holidays, vacation, PTO, Botox/fillers, 1 free service/month, discounts on products, bonuses, commissions, option to take 1/2 day off during the week.

Although our hours have recently changed (M, T, Th, F from 9-6 W, S from 9-5) it can still be challenging to work until 6pm and on some Saturday's. There are no medical benefits. The office is expected to run efficiently with very high standards of excellence and little room for error. It is a fast paced environment and sometimes stressful. Those could be considered negatives for potential employees but are reasons for the success of the practice.

Nice building. Suppose to have benefits like free botox and other services after three months. Don't hold your breath.

A hostile work environment. Doctor treats employees poorly, belittling and rude. No one is happy to go to work. I've never seen such low morale. Initiative is absolutely discouraged. (I tried cleaning the stock room on a slow day and was chastised. Was told from my co-workers she doesn't trust people not to steal) Way to build rapport. I could only stand working there three months (after being with my previous employer for over 4 years) At my three month mark I inquired about my "benefits" and was turned down. That was the last straw.
