Pros

I enjoyed the job I was doing helping SimplyInsured customers. Unlimited PTO is great, but that’s really the only pro after the flexible schedules were taken away, company insurance was changed to a very poor base plan and the higher metal plans were outrageously overpriced, and my role responsibilities changed 4 times with zero pay adjustment - including the fact that I was hired for a nonexistent role. I met some great people along the way that want to help you accomplish your goals, however…this leads me to my con’s

Cons

I’ve worked for some pretty crappy unappreciative companies, but this place takes the cake. There isn’t enough room here to list all the cons I experienced in my short time here, I could literally fill a blog with the experiences I’ve had here that just left me utterly speechless. I gave them the benefit of the doubt after seeing all these negative reviews and I only have myself to blame for that. Unless you’re about to be forced on the streets in a cardboard box, it’s not worth your sanity. I experienced everything from pay issues, poor/under qualified team leadership that have ZERO idea what they’re doing let alone what the jobs of those they’re “leading” is, directives given that included illegal activity due to licensure laws, watched management be aware of metric manipulation across multiple teams and not care, nonexistent training, etc etc…the list truly goes on. All of my issues and concerns were addressed by myself and others with everyone from our team leads to the COO and HR, general response is that their hands are tied due to the CEO not entrusting those below him to make decisions on their own. Lastly, the most recent information that was shared with me is that unless you get licensed you won’t be considered for promotions or raises, unsure if that applies to merit raises - but the last review cycle I didn’t see anyone that wasn’t licensed get any sort of increase..so take that bit of info how you will.

Pros

Team leads actually wants to listen to you

Cons

The issue isn’t with the team or the team leads,it’s with leadership. They only seem to care about themselves. Our year end reviews, which should have been completed at the start of the year, didn’t happen until May. Our bonuses are supposed to be distributed after performance reviews, but leadership keeps delaying that process. They’ll even dock you for the most trivial reasons just to avoid paying out. And mind you the bonuses are around $300–$400 to begin with. There’s also something off about the CEO. He constantly talks over people when they’re answering his questions, comes across as rude, and definitely shows signs of founder syndrome. I watched him push out two of the most respected leaders in the company simply because they stood up for the team. The company advertises an “unlimited vacation policy,” but they’ll turn around and fire you for using it. Raises? Basically nonexistent. You can work here for years and still not see a salary increase. Honestly, you’d probably earn more and be treated better working at your local McDonald’s. No exaggeration.
