Pros

If you don't have a degree in software engineering, but want to move into a developer role (a la 1999), then you will be among your peers. Developers here "learned everything [they] need to know on the job" and have "not wasted money on formal education." You will enjoy working here if you primarily code in database stored procedures, old .NET framework, and HTML 4.0. Also, there is no need to understand industry standard security practices.

Cons

Designers (without coding experience) do all front end development. Thus poor site performance and a constant stream of bugs takes developer time. However, fixing bugs doesn't count as real work, so it's avoided unless a customer or an owner complains about something specific. Showstopping bugs are just tweaked in place and forgotten about until they happen again; there is no documenting, scripting, or communicating about them at all. Migrating code between environments is a blame-game and waste of everyone's time, since there is no parity. There's a culture of unprofessional behavior (including yelling and swearing), which is either exactly what management is going for, or they are too much a part of the problem to notice. Employees trash talk customers and mock them as soon as they hang up the phone, daily. Employees also gossip about anyone who is not working that day or has left. Rude and sarcastic communication is considered the usual. Many times a request for help or info is met with "no" or "shut up", a joke that nobody laughs at.

Great group of guys to work with.

Cons

Upper Management seems disconnected to what and how we get things done and how many personnel it takes to accomplish it.
