Pros

There are a lot of things about VeriShip that make it a really great place to be. We have amazing benefits... our health plan is top notch and the company covers the majority of the cost. We have a 401k with a match, a dental plan that is at no cost to the employee, unlimited PTO, flex time, happy hours, beer on tap, free gym membership, etc. While all of these "perks" are great, there is a lot more to VeriShip outside of these offerings. Let me tell you about some of my recent favorites that I feel fall outside the realm of what traditional companies offer, and that I feel really set VeriShip apart: - The culture committee meets regularly and has focused this year on empowering people to become a learning/problem solving culture as well as focusing on giving back to our community and having fun events too. Going into a room with 20+ other amazing people at a company to talk through ideas on how we can give back to our community is a phenomenal thing to see. And the fact that this was a self-started committee of people with a common passion to help others is something I have never seen at another company I have worked at. From reading to kids, to supporting women in the community, to raising funds for Harvesters, and so many more I can't name them all.... the people here are whole-heartedly involved in the KC community. - Employees at VeriShip are treated more like people than employees. We are a family. We recently collected money for a cause that had affected employees within the company and it was all self-started and everyone really banded together to help out. People and families come first here and it's more than a "job." - Opportunities to grow within the company abound, especially now since we are growing rapidly. If you are interested in growing your career here, simply raise your hand. I love that our company wants people to grow in their careers and be successful. There are many people at VeriShip that have advanced their careers and moved into new roles within the company. - There are numerous opportunities to provide feedback on many levels and people really do listen to that feedback and take it very seriously. I have never worked at another company that valued feedback as much as VeriShip does. - In the fall of 2018 we were notified we were a finalist for the Best Places to Work awards. We ended up receiving 2nd place for Best Places to Work in the small company category! This award was completely based off anonymous employee survey responses by VeriShip employees. - We embrace change and experimentation. We aren't afraid to try things, adapt, and learn along the way. Not only does our experimental culture allow you to learn rapidly, it also allows you to explore job duties that may be outside of your current skillset, allowing you to try out new things.

Cons

- As with many posts here, if you like consistency, then VeriShip might not be the place for you. We are always learning and growing and it is not uncommon for people to pivot and try out new things or new methods of working. - Communication continues to be important. As we grow (rapidly), keeping communication and transparency high will be important.

Pros

Leadership alignment is real here. What you hear in an all-hands actually matches what plays out week to week. That's rarer than it sounds. The culture is genuinely good for a sales org. People compete but they're not weird about it. There's a trust level between teammates that you don't always get when quota pressure is involved. If you take ownership and build things, people notice. The opportunity is there, you just have to go get it.

Cons

Your pipeline is your responsibility. Nobody is going to hand it to you, if you're waiting on inbound to save you, this isn't the place. Like any sales org, it's a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately environment. Last month doesn't matter much. Just expect to always be pushed toward your best and you'll be fine.
