Pros

In my experience: If you're a good employee, you'll find great job security here, even if you spend most of your time working off-site. Management will appreciate you and acknowledge that in the form of annual raises and bonuses. I found it easy to talk to management about any issues I was having; I didn't fear retribution.

Cons

As a small company working for lots of big companies, Shea sometimes bites off more than they can chew and then has to rush to hire and train additional employees for a project. Then all their resources are tied up with the new project, and little is left for other ongoing projects or issues. Needs to work more on their project management. Employees should be assertive about their work-life balance and personal development plan, or they may be overlooked. This cycle has created a high turnover rate (meaning employees leave voluntarily, not fired).

Pros

This company is very much like a family (a happy family). If you are into politics, then this isn't the place for you. Everyone is willing to help each other out because the attitude is that there are no stupid questions. I have found upper and senior management to be very easy to approach. I have also been able to grow and actually have had more opportunity and paid better here than anywhere else I have worked. I guess it's all relative from where you came. The pay here may not be able to match a large corporation, or even a small company that has little or no overhead - like no health benefits. But when the company is doing well, they profit share, and that is nice!

Cons

The company has been experiencing growth for a few years, then an exponential growth last year. This did spread upper management very thin. They put a project controls position into place, which has helped. I found if I needed help with an issue, I was able to get what I needed - maybe not from senior management, but others who have been with the company a long time.
