Pros
The mission of helping people write and publish their books is honestly amazing. That part is real—and it’s what drew me in. But once you’re inside, it becomes pretty clear that the company cares a lot more about profit than people.
Cons
Don’t trust all the glowing reviews—they literally assign employees to write them. Same goes for surveys. You’ll get a task in Asana telling you to fill one out. It’s all about looking like a good place to work.
If you have to travel for work, expect to share a hotel room. They’ll tell you it’s to "build relationships," but really it's just to save money.
Pay is below market, flexibility is limited, and despite the talk about big publishing goals, it often feels like hitting revenue targets is the only thing that actually matters.
