Pros

The majority of the team are absolutely fantastic, and expert in what they do. There are plenty of opportunities to learn from a great group of people. They also pay well, better than a lot of agencies.

Cons

For a company that says on their website “The senior team place a huge emphasis on staff retention” they have exactly the opposite. I witnessed 8 people leave in as many months, and the majority of the time there’s no plan to cover the lost workforce, and instead stretch the remaining team even further. The agency (as mentioned in another review) is really good at under-servicing their clients, which is ironic considering how overworked the team is, especially in client services. I’ve seen team members work beyond their hours, even on weekends, some even cancelling holidays, which just isn’t acceptable. Numerous team members have complained of burnout, only for leadership and the CEO to “cut and run” and ignore the issues that are fundamentally destroying the company. Speaking of leadership, the so-called “CEO” is rarely present, so if you’ve got concerns, you can highlight them to senior leadership, but there’s never any agreement amongst them so nothing ever gets done, or changed. Instead, you get each member of leadership running the business how they choose and in their own image, when it’s not their company. You’re better off keeping your concerns to yourself unfortunately and just keeping your head down. The CEO is also a clear victim of “shiny object syndrome”, trying to implement things without any thought, like endless sub-brands, products that aren’t deliverable, and so on. Finally, their sustainability pledges are not worth their weight. Sure, they plant trees, and are a B-Corp, but that doesn’t stop them working with anybody and everybody. For a company that says they want to work with “planet-first” businesses they certainly would work with a lot of businesses that don’t care about that at all.

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. I am very sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience working with us. That is never the intention. I care deeply about the well-being of the team. It's been a challenging year, and I'm sorry that we let you down. You're absolutely right; we have wonderful people here and our incredible clients too. I’m pleased you had a good experience learning from the team. We've seen some waves of hectic periods, which have been unprecedented, but we now have much more robust processes in place. We work hard to maintain the right balance and don't get it right all the time for all our best intentions. We are always learning, adapting and looking to improve and take your points very seriously, certainly areas we can continually improve upon. Last year the focus was our primary business. All sub-brands were put on hold, so I think there may be some confusion regarding what the priorities were. Reluctantly, I had to cut back significantly on workload for periods in 2021, far more so than I wished for or expected. This was due to health and personal reasons. I am always open to new ideas, feedback and do my best to improve things that need fixing and celebrate the incredible things we do as a team internally and with our clients. If you were not listened to or couldn’t speak with me, I’m sorry if that was the case - I should have made more time for you. I'd be happy to discuss your concerns in more detail if that's something you'd be open to. I hope this goes some way to acknowledge your concerns and assure you the team is the number one asset we have. We are very excited about this year, and I wish you all the best in your next role. Kind regards Ollie (Founder & CEO)

Pros

People and planet first office culture. Positive, friendly and supportive team. Creative and fun out of office activities. Flexi time and flexi remote working opportunities. Often an early finish Friday if team weekly workload managed. Professional development opportunities. Wiliness to learn and adapt to improve on all levels for the benefit of staff, clients and planet. CEO approachable and easy to talk to.

Cons

Can get busy but nothing unexpected for agency environment and their is always support Couple of recent (Covid) hires negatively impacted the office culture but have now left and there is a good balance in the team again. Shame to lose some some previous team members who have moved on to new challenges. Additional: Negative comments from other reviews are likely from hires that could not fit into a typical digital agency environment. Selesti hands down is the best working environment and culture I've worked in. Understandable it's not for everyone as it can be fast paced and sometimes pressure to deliver but it's very rewarding and the team pull together to support each other.
