Pros

1. Good managers: At securityhq I have experienced that you will never get such good talented managers who are always there to help you and listen to you, they will never judge you for anything, ask whatever you want any trouble and they will be there to help you out and guide you for a fruitful career. 2. Growth: No question in that, the work experience and exposure that I got here is exceptional. This always differ between people, those who come with an aim to grow always get it. No matter what. 3. Exposure to tools and Infra: SecurityHQ has almost every tool available in the market, and access, training and exposure to those tools are always given. 4. Team Bonding: A lot of activities are done for team bonding, even Team leaders plan for trips to make sure team is united. 5. Leaves: The leave structure is good enough to give you a good break, take leaves when sick or go out for a travel. Exception is that in certain cases you have to make it planned so that a replacement can be arranged. In case of emergency no questions are asked. 6. Rewards and Recognition: Everyone is rewarded for their good work. There are also Star performer rewards monthly. Certificates are also given and all good work is recognized at appraisals as well. 7. Appreciate in public and Reprimand in private: One of the best thing is that you receive rewards and appreciations in public, and in case of any reprimands then managers talk in private which boosts employee morale. 8: Appraisals: Standard and your good work will always get appraised. 9: Restrictions of work based on role or level?: No, even if you are a growing L1 you can definitely pick senior tasks and show what you have got, team leads are there to help you in that and make sure you are given right guidance to accomplish what you want to achieve. 10. Hungry at night: Added snacks to night shifts, like sandwiches bananas milk and stuff which is refreshing at night. Also got a vending machine so that you can get the snacks you want.

Cons

1. Work Life Balance? : Yeah we can say there is less work life balance but its not worse. Being in 24/7 security service model it is expected to have rotational shifts. Good thing is Rotations are well designed so that you get enough time to balance through. Another good thing is there are no 12 hours shift in these rotations. Other organizations on 24/7 model either have Months of night shift or 4 days work but all 12 h which is way worse. 2. Package? : Good but being said that org is still growing you can expect a little difference between other MNCs packages. Which is completely expected given that your exposure to the infra is way good then other orgs and less toxic work culture.

Pros

Met some good people here that SecurityHQ doesn't deserve

Cons

- Training and preparation for the role: o During probation period. Probation review was based on how to deal with clients and what was understood from their pentesting reports. I had not done any pentesting up until that point. Not on having the technical knowledge and understanding for tackling the SOC monitoring or understanding the security tools. o For incident response. Had to tackle P1 and P2 incidents without any training. Lost clients as a result. o Was not trained to handle customer relations and their politics management. Lost clients as a result. - Career Opportunities: o Only climbing up the ladder for your designated path (no lateral mobility). o Only their favorites who suck up to the management get on-boarded to other countries. - Compensations & Benefits: o None present and would not be worth mentioning. - Diversity & Inclusion: o None – homophobic and racists [they allowed a customer to have White/British SDM only]. o Do not support their own employees through their difficulties as they do not even care to accommodate for mental health induced difficulties. (Which is caused by this company). o Publicly humiliated people in front of their teammates. o Constantly berating people for their mistakes. o Deliberately belittle people when they are questioned on their ideologies. - Senior Management: o Head in the clouds. o Make promises they cannot keep. o Backstab team members for customers. o Zero strategy for growth. o Stay understaffed and make overworking a culture. o Running a service when they claim to have the expertise (Surprise surprise; they do not). o They expect untrained people to take the slack for their own failures and publicly humiliate who they do not like. o Have been bankrupt a couple of times. - Work / Life Balance: o Really bad; working almost 24/7 in a role that’s meant to be 9-5 [Agreed on contractually]. o No respect for boundaries [Especially on time off] when Colleagues kept calling me so many times when I was on leave to the point [they can see the out of office notification] where I had to switch off the SIM. o Expected to be in office all the time just to be in-sync with latest tasks otherwise I have to run in ignorant with day-to-day pushing on with daily. - Exit process: o HR conveniently forgot to pay my unused annual leave. Had to threaten with court action and then they decided to pay.
