Pros
Respect for work-life balance and autonomy to take on new responsibilities and tasks. Very casual working environment and close intra-divisional relationships. Gave me a ton of responsibility early in my career, which provided a valuable hands-on business experience.
Cons
Mismanagement from the top. Compensation and reward timing is left up to employees to remind management and kept secret from employee to employee. Company lacks consistent performance metrics, formal/informal ethics codes, and is averse to technological upgrades that would streamline processes. All managers have been there for 15+ years and have no incentive to improve performance. Owners treat company as a cash cow and will not wisely invest to position the company for growth.
