Pros
Been doing energy sales for a few years now and a lot of other firms have offered more money and wound up not paying at all. Sector 7 does take their share but actually does payout as promised and front the money they should. I'd say that's more than fair since most firms will try to burn you. Having experience across multiple firms, they don't pay the most starting off and they don't pay the least starting off. It's nice that over time, earning potential increases. Yes, management does get perks and only those who are exceptional performers reach those levels. Sadly we live in a world where people want low risk and still high reward? It's nice to see that certain people are actually achieving those levels and reaping the rewards of it. After talking to Daniel about what makes the firm different, there's actually a lot that this company does that most other firms don't do. People seem to think they only acquire customers and collect money but the way they are setting up their support system to help the clients is actually there. Most people don't see it. The operations team is very quick and the customer support team is a huge plus. Most firms do not have someone that will take care of support issues and rely on the salesperson to do everything. This is an honest company but I can only imagine how many under-performers will wind up posting something negative. As someone who has been in the industry just as long as Daniel has, I'm positive that these guys are more than fair and going in the right direction. Great incentives and trips.
Cons
Although I personally think the money is going to the right places to grow and support the clients, it may help to educate your newer consultants the difference between you and the other firms. I've seen another review complaining about pay and someone spewing negative things about how management lies, but these people clearly do not understand how the industry works. I'm assuming they haven't been doing this long and were just terrible at it. Educating these people might be a waste of time, but perhaps that could help people realize how your back-end functions help them in sales and the future. Some more structure for your more seasoned energy brokers would be nice. Internal sales has a lot of great practices and things in the office. BizDev could probably use some of that? We don't have an office to get organized the way sales does. Not a big, big issue - your sales team gets incentives, trips, bonuses. Maybe BizDev could too?
