Pros

The people are definitely one of the best things about working at SLTI -- it's a supportive work environment full of diverse, creative, and thoughtful people who genuinely care about one another and the quality of the work they produce. The projects we work on are interesting, challenging, and conducive to professional growth. I feel like I'm constantly provided with (or able to create) opportunities to display my strengths and to get more practice in areas where I know I need to improve. There's also enough variety in the work we do to ensure my days and weeks are include a good balance of creative, administrative, and other tasks. After 5+ years as a contractor and nearly 2 years as a full-time employee, I still genuinely enjoy the work that I do and the people I get to do it with.

Cons

Working remotely across multiple time zones can sometimes present challenges. It takes a bit more time to get to know people when you don't have the opportunities for in-person interaction that you would have in an office. And working from home can require a bit more discipline and focus than working from an office.

Pros

Can't think of any pros

Cons

Have worked for a number of academic testing companies but have never seen anything like the confusion that exists with Second Language Testing and their poor handling of the 2019 Berlitz English Language listening item project. The project started on an organized track, but it quickly began to go downhill. Early in on, there had been an apparent lack of organization on where written items needed to go for review upon completion. Even more unacceptable has been the slow turn around feedback for written items. It is mind-boggling how items submitted in April are only receiving QC feedback at the end of August. Do they really expect that revisions will be made at that late stage? Poorly managed project!!
