Pros
During your training period you get paid a little over minimum wage. It's not much but its better than nothing. After your training you get paid less than minimum wage as a base pay plus commission on items you sell.
Cons
I think they expect too much from the sales associates. We basically do everything, maintain the sales floor, restock the shelves, assist customers, checkout/cashiering, answer customer call, etc. All while trying to implement the slow devices that the company is starting to use. Another thing is enrolling and retaining all customers as members of our rewards programs. Its a lot to juggle but you get the hang of it. Unfortunately the pay doesn't really reflect on all our hard work. But Sears isn't a bad place to work in.
