It is an outdoor workplace. You get to learn about boats. You work on a dock.
Cons
Dangerous environment that no one takes seriously. Most of the workers are high or drunk and are teaching people who have never driven a boat how to function high performance machinery while intoxicated. Management does not take those precautions seriously and enables that behavior- then punishes the employees if something happens. They charge customers about 300% of what they pay themselves when equipment is damaged leaving the customer with an unfair and awful experience. The boats are so dirty and the employees couldn't care less to clean them even though it cost people $500 plus to rent them for a few hours. Presentation means nothing to them and every location is a hazardous mess. Andy Kurtz- the owner- often rewards the location he works in with lunch and leaves the rest of the locations to fend for themselves on extremely busy days. If you do not work in the main office ( Mission Bay) you will not get ahead in the company and very well make minimum wage for the entirety of your employment regardless of how hard you work. Minimum wage is what they pay you even though you mentally and physically work hard day in and day out- they do not see this as a problem and think you should just work very hard for nothing so they can reap all the profit. All in all worst place I have ever worked and for the most selfish people. The Kurtz family does not treat you like family at all and are incredibly stressed often. First day on the job one of the girls told me " If you want to work here, you have to be a b****." Oh and trust me it was true! No thanks! All around negative experience.
