Pros
--> You own the projects, this allows to make decisions and be a leader (maybe a caveat for some), but coming from a big corp., this is what I value. --> Pioneering in a field not much explored by other companies == growth potential. Since it is in the early stages, there is so much to grow as a business and for me as a member. --> The team is being very helpful, managers want results, but listen to our leadership in projects. But you need to take initiative and organize your work. --> Able to work on scientific software with the latest AI tech is something you will have a hard time finding in most companies. --> I have been following their growth for 4 years before joining, and the growth was real, exponential and a proof of the potential. --> Diverse and friendly team with great minds! Each coming from different backgrounds (including me), with different specialization fields, if you ask questions you can get what you need.
Cons
--> It isn't a 9-5 job on my view (might be a problem for some). This is a growing startup in the brick of becoming a unicorn, so you need to put your skin in the game. --> If you want a corporate job, with layers of (useless) middle-managers looking/guiding your work so you can blindly follow procedures, this isn't it. Here you are supposed to create the procedure, optimize it and deliver. --> Multitasking and covering many work fields is necessary.
