Cons
There are hundreds. Too many to list in fact, I would be here for days if I intended to rattle them off. Particularly in the Dallas office - When I started I described it as great people, great place to work. Culture immediately changed when certain district managers were hired. The worst brand of people who micromanage to every minute detail unlike anything you will ever see in your life. Mobility, whether it be vertical or lateral is HIGHLY discouraged. Even heard stories about a district manager threatening physical altercation and HR being non responsive. This branch will likely find itself in a crisis mode when one mistake is avoided for long enough, until it finally gets around to the right person(s) - such as the Texas Workforce Commission or the EEOC. They're manipulative, they will never present an organized manual or piece of literature on how to do your job, or offer any sort of training program, but they will tell you not to do x, y, and z, and to get your work together or they will fire you. Many people eventually leave to go to a competitor like OTIS or Thyssen. This appears to be the same in many cities in which I have spoken to people. If you can't cultivate great talent, people will leave eventually. If you ever work for Schindler I suggest you always be on the lookout for your next job. Schindler will give you NOTHING in the long-term. They are never the front runner in any category in any city whether it be market share, customer service, etc. Thyssen and OTIS are lightyears ahead, and Schindler is always struggling just to keep up. To top everything off, health insurance is terrible, 401 is matched but only up to a small percentage. Tuition reimbursement is offered - but you have to sign a contract, and they only repay up to half time. News flash - if I wanted to go to grad school to earn a degree on top of the one I already have, I would get in and out as quickly as possible, not drag it out at half time. On the criteria listed below - Career oppts, compensation, work/life, Sr mgmt, and Culture I would actually not even give one star if I could.
