Toxic Environment with Discrimination and Bullying - Anonymous, Head Office Scanlan Theodore Employee Review

I wish I could give this company zero stars. My experience working here was nothing short of awful. The workplace culture is toxic, and management fosters an environment that encourages bullying, making it one of the most stressful and demoralising places I've ever worked. Discrimination is rampant — particularly against age and size. The company openly discriminates against models, customers, and ambassadors who don’t fit their narrow, outdated standards. This lack of inclusivity is shocking and disappointing for a modern brand. Before joining, I had heard horror stories about the toxic culture, but having worked in fashion before, I thought I’d seen it all. Unfortunately, this exceeded my expectations in the worst way possible. No assistance is ever provided during times of significantly increased workload, leaving you to work day and night with absolutely no feedback or guidance. Despite these unrealistic expectations, employees are regularly fired — this workplace has the highest turnover I’ve ever seen. What’s worse, people are assured they are doing a good job and receive no constructive feedback, only to be suddenly let go without warning. This happens regularly, something I wish I'd known before starting. The toxicity starts at the very top, with the founder and his partner (particularly toxic) setting a culture of negativity and unprofessionalism that filters down through the entire organisation. Leadership lacks empathy and accountability. Their poor decisions are blamed on the team. The level of stress and negativity I experienced here has had a lasting impact on my mental health. I would strongly advise anyone considering working here to think twice. There are far better opportunities out there with organisations that genuinely care about their employees' well-being and promote a healthy work environment. Avoid at all costs.
