Pros

Excellent benefits, particularly for a remote first company. I had the absolute privilege of working with some of the smartest, kindest, solution-driven people I have ever had the opportunity to work with in my career whilst working at Sano; colleagues who were genuinely passionate about improving outcomes for patients - patients who deserve answers to complex health questions. I learned a huge amount during my time at Sano as a result of the fast-paced nature, but also vicariously through interacting with so many different colleagues from various specialities and backgrounds. There is a genuine approach to democratic decision making, although ultimately decisions will rest with leadership, as they should with all companies. As Sano continues to grow, there is the expected ‘shuffling’ of teams and departments to test the best ways of working and it is notable that cross-team communication and shared goals are improving under new leadership. Offsites are a great benefit at Sano and are usually enjoyed by all, a time to reconnect in person and to re-focus on the burning priorities across the company.

Cons

Most of the cons I can list can be attributed to many scaling start-ups; so it is worth noting that understanding your tolerance for this environment is important when deciding to work here. Sano suffer with the same problems as many start-ups: Lack of process / constantly changing process, changes in direction, leadership changes.

Pros

Working at Sano was one of the best internships I have ever had. Everyone cares about the company's mission and values and hold themselves to a high standard.

Cons

Fully remote work during the pandemic is probably the only con, but even still the team culture is so strong that it is never difficult to collaborate.

Pros

Remote work, good cause, good benefits package

Cons

Weak/nonexistent leadership, good benefits are used to trap people into staying in a bad situation, they will use you until you’re at your breaking point and then will let you go, they can’t choose a direction and don’t know who they are, be cautious and don’t trust anyone lightly if you decide to join!
