Pros
If you're anywhere a customer doesn't see you, its easy. Thanks to the 'point' system, if you take a day off and then cover at least 4 hours using Protected PTO, you only take 'half' a point, and are only subject to termination after 5 points. Therefore, you get one surprise day off every month, no questions asked! No matter what management says, you will NEVER have to work Overtime or drive a Forklift, though the opportunities will always be available. You can get Forklift certified very quickly and easily, and use that certification to get a job somewhere else. You can extremely easily jury-rig the in-store headset they give you to just be hooked up to your phone and listen to music without anyone knowing. Free membership is nice.
Cons
It is company policy to not offer raises without promotions, and it also company police to not offer raises for getting forklift certified. Also, there are no positions that require forklift certification except for Team Lead and above, and overnight merch. Therefore, management will constantly try to guilt trip new hires with lies about how driving a lift will make their jobs 'easier'. It won't. It will only give you more responsibility for no extra pay. In addition, management gives equal value to the complaints raised by an associate who's been there nine years who carries a department on their back, and some guy who's been here three months and is on the absolute fringe of getting fired anyway. Only work here if you can somehow just zone out the whole time and not worry about tomorrow too much.
