Pros

* Hard Working: This is the hardest working team I've been a part of: they do incredible work in tight deadlines, but still manage to maintain work/life balance (most of the time). * Culture of Feedback: Leadership has worked really hard to make regular feedback a part of our culture; coworkers have a high degree of respect for one another which makes feedback conversations easier. * Opportunity: This is a company where you can easily have your voice heard and make direct impact into our product and member experience. * Company Culture: Most of the company went remote for all of 2020, but Leadership, our Office Manager, and People Team prioritized company culture: they work really hard to help us feel connected with regular Zoom events and dedicated time to socialize with new team members. * Leadership: Our company founders actually lead by example and have instilled values across all facets of the company that help us all work better. STEEZY Leadership is a breath of fresh air compared to many corporate and startup leaders. * STEEZY is a cool company: This is a cool product with a devoted, passionate community, and a unicorn team working to make it even better.

Cons

STEEZY is still an early stage startup, and leadership is fiscally responsible which is a good thing, but also means you may find yourself without all of the tools you're used to working with. There's no "blank check" to purchase tools/services (and headcount), but leadership is also very reasonable if you are able to contextualize the value of the investment. This is a young company so priorities may shift quickly to match demand.

Thank you so much for this detailed and well thought out review! I'm really happy you called out the culture of feedback - this is super important to Evan, Connor, and myself, and I'm glad you find value in it as well! It has most definitely been a tough year to ensure everyone feels connected despite most of us being remote, so I also appreciate the mention about prioritizing company culture! To your point about a blank check, I agree that as a start-up we have to be cognizant of where we allocate our budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility, hopefully as we scale, we can continue to develop more flexibility in this area so that teams can have the necessary tools (and headcount)! Sincerely, Vina Director, People and Talent Acquisition

Pros

When I get asked what it's like to work at Steezy the first word that comes to mind is empathy. I'm always feeling incredibly grateful to be working with a group of individuals who are really thoughtful—thoughtful about the things we build, the people we get to build it for, and the people who are building it. There's honestly no ego. No phonies. And no bull. This level of authenticity gives me the agency to do my best work and to be my best self. Mistakes are okay. We know building Steezy is an iterative process. With each release we're learning more about what works and what doesn't. We're listening to our users and we're listening to our teammates. We're constantly growing, iterating, and readjusting our goals. The company is always candid with itself. We're always celebrating our wins and recognizing our losses. At the end of the day, Steezy's really cultivated a transparent environment that trickles down to every facet of the company. It's a great place to learn, to grow, and to be surrounded by individuals who have your best interest in mind.

Cons

Like most of the reviews here, Steezy is an early staged and fast-paced startup. Sometimes we're figuring it all out together, but at the same time, I've learned more than I've ever gotten the chance to at previous jobs. I'll be honest—it's been tough, but fulfilling. With such a high level of autonomy comes more responsibility and more decisions. If this type of company is for you, be prepared to wear multiple hats and be comfortable with change and occasional ambiguity.

Thank you so very much for your detailed and authentic review! I appreciate how you are able to highlight the honest truth of what transparency means working at STEEZY, and also the changes that can require employees to be agile. I agree that we are able to celebrate our wins and recognize our losses, and be honest with one another about where we did well and where we could've done better in our All Hands meetings! I also appreciate that you share it has been tough yet fulfilling, with the toughness having to do with the level of autonomy you are given (which ultimately leads to making more decisions with agency). I am hopeful that with some big hires we are making to bolster the team, the transparency and autonomy will remain, but there will be more guidance and clarity provided to teams, which will definitely be impactful as we grow and scale. In the interim, I am grateful for all the hard work you constantly put into your day-to-day! Sincerely, Vina Director, People and Talent Acquisition
