ā¢ Favoritism from management can impact workplace dynamics and make working there more challenging than it needs to be. ā¢ Certain managers or coworkers may engage in undermining/sabotaging behavior, which creates a toxic environment for some. ā¢ Certain coworkers exhibit subtly racist behavior, including microaggressions, which can make the environment uncomfortableāespecially for employees from underrepresented backgrounds. ā¢ Subtle discrimination can be present and may go unaddressed, making it uncomfortable for underrepresented voices. ā¢ Workplace fairness is inconsistentāsome individuals are held to different standards than others. ā¢ Work-life balance is uneven; expectations and workload vary depending on who you report to and what project youāre on. ā¢ Health insurance options are not competitiveāespecially for single employees.
