Pros
There are company events. There is overtime for certain people. You can get points as a reward for going above and beyond which can be used in exchange for gifts.
Cons
Unfortunately, with a corporation of this size, you are basically a number. Unless you bring in work to the company, you are not basically ignored. They do not care how much you contribute. At the end of the day, the person (usually a lead engineer or manager) get all the credit for your efforts. The senior engineers claim that it is not necessary to learn how to use any CAD software. This was included in his “to-do” list for over six months but he never made any efforts to learn. He thinks he has all these “drafters” at their disposal. The senior engineers are so lost into thinking that the objects magically place themselves on the drawings. There is no appreciation of the fact that these junior or mid-level engineers or designers are forced to demote themselves in front of these ruthless senior engineers. When people are being forced to leave the company, they will make sure the person who puts zero effort in the work stays while someone who works many hours to meet the deadline will be removed. The fact of the matter it is the senior engineer and the manager’s problem as they collude so neither of them will be forced out. They will have someone who is more junior serving as their scapegoat.
