Pros
Great at selling you in on the company vision, as well as coming up with innovative solutions, but unfortunately a vision doesn't mean it's real.
Cons
Sales training is almost non-existent. As a salesperson you're basically told we can do anything the client wants us to do; it feels as though management willfully keeps us in the dark about our true capabilities. They recently made one of the sales managers a 'trainer', but its basically a joke. In fact, we just got back from a company wide summit in Mexico where management was touting all our unique capabilities and mapping out this amazing vision for the future. Unfortunately I've already had numerous occasions where my clients are requesting BIG data and management essentially packages up something extremely different to try and sell to the client (This is literally a week after our big summit touting we can do so much). When I bring up these issues to the COO of BIG, he either give me radio silence or replies back with something like ' tell them we can do it and get the deal' without any explanation or data to back up our statements. News flash, it doesn't work that way in a data driven world! We're told to push the new BIG platform, which in and of itself sounds amazing, unfortunately its extremely far from ready for prime-time. While there might be something here in the future, what's being peddled now is just false information. Perhaps this is the next big thing, but I'm not going to stick around and risk my reputation on lies being pushed by upper management.
