Pros

Pay attention to safety to achieve good KPI's

Cons

I have worked for SLB and its former companies for 17 years and have become increasingly dissatisfied with the company. I cannot in all honesty recommend this as a place to work. I am only briefly highlighting some of the serious flaws with this company in my view, which I have experienced. Please bear in mind the company had a profit of more than USD$4b in 2023 on a revenue of USD$33b -yearly merit awards for best performers well below the rate of inflation regardless of very respectable company profits. I had to tell one of my team he was awarded 2%, after several years of nothing, which is pitiful. -Trying to get a promotion on the technical side of the business is a huge undertaking for even well qualified and experienced personnel, especially those not in the original Schlumberger company. -There is bias within the company with more traditional but essential manufacturing being poorly prioritized and supported against the more exciting renewables side of the business. Supporting both equally is preferred. -There is a them and us culture when comparing traditional Schlumberger compared to recent bought out companies. -There is a lack of strategy and forward planning at mid management level. -The company is ruthless i.e. during the pandemic it panacked and quickly cut a third of its workforce (30k), rather than trying to protect its most skilled assets for at least the short term. They do not value people, they use them as objects. -This is not a place where one can freely speak about concerns because one will be moved on very quickly. -Significant turnover of staff leading to poorly qualified and poorly experienced personnel throughout the SLB business leading to poor operational efficiencies. -Poor communication between departments. My budget was cut massively and I was not told until March of that year -I was threatened with firing many times for issues in production that were not my fault. I was exonerated by an independent investigation. No apology followed. If you want to gain experience of an oil services company, this is good for a few years, thereafter I advise to get out due to poor treatment.

Cons

To be honest, there weren't any flaws, it was a good working experience.
