Pros
(I've worked at SG for just under two years):
-Open-minded, welcoming culture where all employees are treated with respect
-Firmly remote-first policy without mandatory weekly office days
-Nice new office with good natural light, 10 min walk from North/West Richmond stations and the 109/78 trams. Good snacks and usually at least a couple of other people in the office M/W/F
-Positive attitude toward mental wellbeing of employees, mental health days encouraged
-No toxic/macho overwork/overtime culture in my experience
-Self-motivated attitude encouraged, very little micromanagement in my experience
-Decent laptop, 27' monitor and peripherals provided
-All KPIs and workload mutually agreed upon with manager
-A decent set of internal policies/procedures, especially with HR/payroll.
-For the most part: the warmth/energy of a small business with the professionalism of a large corporate
Cons
-Remote-first may be isolating for some. Culture may vary a bit between teams because of this also. It's rare for the entire team to be in the office at once.
-Young team might not an upside for everybody. Your manager might be the same age as you or younger.
