Pros
- dependent on department/teams, work-life balance is good, practically zero OT - come in as lead/manager, this is a perfect place to retire as the management rarely layoff people even if they are not performing
Cons
- bad communication between top and middle management, top management unable to see issues that are happening in teams - low increment yearly - promises for training and development tend to be not kept - compensation on the low side compared to the market - job grades are not made known (no transparency from the management, employees have no way to know their career trajectory) - very slow career growth and not much chance for promotion, they tend to prefer hiring from external; rather than promoting from within - tend to see a lot of senior/lead engineers that are not contributing much; managers pushing their work and responsibilities to others, etc.
