Pros
I originally joined Artemys because I wanted to be part of a mission driven company and a scrappy team of do-ers and go getters. Artemys has exceed my expectations The pros: - Great management: Kasia, the CTO, is super sharp and runs an amazing R&D Team. She's great at encouraging the team, setting ambitious but fair goals, and spares no expense to take the grunt work out of the science to focus on the more intellectual tasks. Josh, the CEO, is clear headed about commercialization and very proactive about hiring only the best (and it shows) - The work we are doing: We are literally creating a new way of producing meat is ethical, sustainable, and better for the consumer. The mission ground me everyday and make me feel good about the work I'm doing - Part of a rocket ship: I am confident if any company in cultured meat will succeed, it will be Artemys. Everyday it feels like we are making progress on our product, developing a killer marketing strategy, and being proactive about our regulatory efforts. This company is going places
Cons
- Given the offices are in San Leandro, it can be a bit of a long commute from SF or Berkeley. I would imagine as we expand our offices and move into new spaces we may choose a better location - In start up life, things move quickly and there are periods where hours can be long. I don't personally mind because I feel like I'm learning and growing so much
