Pros

If anything the benefits were decent. Job security is pretty good as well. As long as you don't rock the boat you won't get fired. Also, once you leave at 5 you really don't need to think about work till 8 the next morning.

Cons

Where to begin.....the company literally has 3 very large binders full of company policies you will have to read in your first few days. Most companies don't have near this many policies. Pay is INCREDIBLY low. As far as freedom goes as an employee you have none..zero. Salary employees are treated like hourly ones. Also be carful because some current salary employees are even having to "punch a clock". If you are coming into the organization looking to do sales, understand that when not traveling in your territory you will be expected to be in the office from 8-5 pm. Don't you dare think about walking in the office at 8:01pm otherewise you will get a talking to from HR. Also, lunch is from 12-1pm and ends promptly at 1 pm. Like I said zero freedom and treated like hourly employees. There is also a complete lack of distrust from certain managers and especially the admin office. You basically go in everyday to be babysat. Vacation when first starting out is 10 days with 32 hrs of PTO. Now that's if you start Jan 1. If you start within the year you get no vacation. Any time off will be unpaid. Now lets move to technology. Good thing is all brand new copiers have been installed. Bad news the computers at your desk do not have internet connection, which means you have no email at your desk (I am not kidding). If you are interviewing please make sure to ask about the email system in the interview because you wouldn't believe me if I told you. If you are in sales here's how it goes. You only have to travel 25% of the time, but if you expect to make any money you need to travel at least 35%. You get a $40 per diem for all 3 meals per day. And you need to keep a receipt for everything. You will not get reimbursed for anything over the $40 daily allowance. Also everytime you want to travel you need to fill out a form. Then someone else actually books the trip for you (car, airfare, hotel). You have little say in the options chosen for you. Again, no freedom and lack of trust to make the right decision. So I say all that to say this...if everything I've layed out sounds good to you then go for it. Enjoy your time at Sarstedt. If any of this sounds bad then don't take a job here. I promise you, you will not enjoy it. One last thing, if you are interviewing you are going to be promised the moon. Be very skeptical because all those promises don't generally pan out. It can be a very suffocating environment.

Pros

Some of the people you work with are great

Cons

Upper management does not take your opinions into account unless they can benefit from your ideas. The company will over work you and get upset when you make a mistake.
