Pros

Really strong & friendly engineering team

Cons

Ryalto is owned and controlled by a recruiter with no background or knowledge of the healthcare space in which the company operates. The founder is also not actively involved in the day to day operations of the business as he focusses on a recruitment startup. The founder previously allowed a consultancy firm to run the business - installing a consultant as trainee CEO - this resulted in powerpoint and hot air being the main output of this time. As the company has not yet focused on or solved one problem properly it is artificially kept alive by the founders money and that of other recruiters who have invested. Promised employee share options never materialised & the CTO and the majority of the backend engineering team have also recently quit. In any possible interview do confirm the above.

Thanks for your feedback, although obviously we're sorry to hear that you felt so negatively about certain aspects. Towards the end of 2018, the company identified a number of areas for improvement and, as always when this happens in a start-up, some difficult decisions had to be made. Some changes of personnel in addition to a more long-term focus has already started to show tangible signs of improvement within the company, and while it may not have been ideal for all concerned, it feels like we're now headed in the right direction. As you mentioned, we're lucky to have an extremely strong technical team, and the rest of the company is working with them (and learning from them!) so we can keep improving in all areas. While there's a certain amount of what you said which we'd disagree with, we pride ourselves on transparency, so would welcome the chance to talk through any aspects at the interview stage, as you suggested.
