Pros

The people that work at Runa are skilled, committed, and up to the challenge of building a start-up. They're great colleagues from whom anyone can learn and they are open to help anyone in trouble.

Cons

There was a time in which Runa was full-speed sailing as the Titanic. But after one of the Heads joined it started sinking. Since then there is no longer the feeling of belonging to the company. Policies slowly started changing without no one noticing it (holidays, PTO as an example). By the time someone noticed, the change was already done and discussion was off the table. This Head started firing people claiming it was due to low performance but the truth is that it was something personal. Also, the open and welcoming culture the company had before is long gone. Some employees are scared of sharing their thoughts. This same Head insists that finding new talent (which is usually brought in from abroad) is difficult but doesn't promote a training program for current employees. The "benefits" the company offers are limited and aren't what they seem to be. The same story goes for all the awards and recognitions that are posted on social media. There are extremely long work hours and sometimes people work on projects because it's more a wish from Managers or Heads than a product priority. Day-to-day responsibilities shift quickly causing extra stress for everyone and this sometimes makes anyone fall behind in their daily tasks. There's a constant feeling of working and working and still never catching up. Some Managers and Heads have no issue throwing people from their team under the bus. And even if they see their team overflown with work still they can't lend a hand (spoiler alert, it's because they don't know how). The "burnout" word doesn't even exist in the company's dictionary and it's almost taboo. Employees used to be the best ambassadors of the brand, now they just aren't into it anymore. Wonder why?

Pros

- Focus on constantly improving the company's culture: Runa's mission is to improve the employees' lifestyle around the world, so the company is constantly asking us for ways to improve its own internal culture. Employees at Runa are called "Runitos" and there's a real sense of an open and collaborative community - Remote friendly: Runitos are based all over the world, having flexible location and working hours - Flexible paid time off: depending on your team there are certain "rules" but it's pretty flexible across the board - Employees can vote on the company' benefits: the latest most voted benefit was half-off Fridays once a month - Diverse teams: many workers have different backgrounds (more so outside of the Sales Team) Theres is a sense of community and shared resilience - Customer centric company: new products and services offered are designed based on the customer's needs. The company is focused on growth (sales targets are aggressive) but also on retaining and adding value to its current customers - Building something bigger than just a platform: the company is invested in building a driver to do things right for employees. From getting them their salaries right, to benefits that will extend to their families. The platform makes it easier for small and medium businesses, and accounting firms. -Management team is transparent: with the good, the bad, and the ugly, we get access to the company's numbers and usually all the tams are transparent with sharing their success and their problems

Cons

-As any other startup, things move very FAST. If you don't like a fast-paced environment you might not enjoy the experience -L&D could be better: quality of onboarding and training is not consistent and depends on the team you are at

Pros

Runa is a highly collaborative product organization looking to make great positive changes for small businesses in Latin America. Runa works hard to prioritize the needs of its people and teams. For example, in the tech org, Runa allocates 10% of everyone's time back for personal learning and development. Additionally, Runa sets aside time several times a year to run a company-wide hackathon exploring fun ways to help others through innovation. The CEO and leadership team work hard to provide clarity on the company vision and strategy while creating an environment where anyone can contribute and drive outcomes and solutions in support of the company's goals.

Cons

Runa is a startup and is very fast-paced. The company often has to try things, measure its effectiveness and adjust/pivot accordingly to meet the needs of customers, the industry, the economy. This happens as part of Runa's main formula for prioritization and working on the most important things at any given time.
