Pros
Free medical & dental care. Sport with opportunities to travel all over the world. Generous annual leave and further education encouraged and subsidised by the RAF.
Cons
Can deploy at very short notice, often for long periods of time away from family. Too much admin with too many hurdles to go through. Slowly losing control to civilian contractors. Pension gradually getting worse and pay for engineers does not reflect the equivalent role in civvy street.
