Pros
Pay and benefits okay. The Engineers want to do a good job and there can be good working relationships, but this is reducing year on year (since AEC formed and morphed into CDS). There have been opportunities to leave (Voluntary Redundancy) and the next one will likely result in a mad rush for the door.
Cons
Management culture is toxic. When a project or failure happens, the senior/middle Managers protect themselves as a group, close ranks and look for a lower level scapegoat to blame. One method used to bully and intimidate is to invent 'performance issues' with the scapegoat and then put them on an 'improvement program'. HR don't police or act impartially in this corrupt process and the scapegoat can then be subject to loss of benefits/grade or first out the door when redundancy comes. The environment thus created is extremely 'fascist' with authoritarian rule by senior managers and no dissent in the ranks tolerated, even when there could be major business benefits possible. Long serving, good Employees are going on sick due to Stress ; there is no one to turn to for help or justice in this organisation now.
