Pros
- High degree of autonomy. Even in the down market, no one will breathe down your neck too much. - Great reputation amongst VCs and the tech community. - Excellent resources of a larger firm while still feeling small and non-corporate. - If you want it and can make it happen, Riviera will clear a path for you - there's not a lot of red tape here, and generally no big egos "protecting" accounts, searches, etc. - Management is generally receptive to feedback and new ideas in my experience.
Cons
- Culture has taken a hit with some off the more talented recruiters leaving recently - this needs to be repaired with a new set of people stepping up to the plate to lead. - Comp keeps getting messed up in order to change the incentive structure. I get it, but you're driving good people away with these changes.
