Pros

As a 19 year old looking for a full time employment following education, Riviera Networks offered me a job opportunity & i haven't looked back since. Having been a member of the team for over 5 years these are my pro's of working for this company : * Great learning/working environment. (Qualification courses are offered) * Varied workload (No job is the same each day) * Friendly & knowledgeable staff, with excellent team morale. * Clean & modern working facilities.

Cons

* Location isn't the best in terms of activities/options at lunch & after work * Poor local/public transport

Pros

The equipment and working environment is modern, and anything (within reason) that is needed is purchased. This includes courses/training for support staff. Workload is varied as it always is with a job of this nature. The management do their best to provide additional support when needed. The work is quite varied, and at times challenging, but this tends to keep you interested rather than frustrated. Worker moral is high on the priorities of the management. Entertainment is provided for staff to use during lunch or out of hours. The entire company is close knit and like a second family. You can enjoy a laugh and joke with everyone in and out of work. The director sometimes provides pizza for all staff to enjoy, and all staff frequently bring in "treats" such a biscuits and chocolates to share. The director is open to suggestions and change where it makes sense and where it produces a positive outcome. The director is very eager to do right by our customers, often going way above and beyond in order to ensure the customer is happy. He is very much hands on with our work and customer relations, getting involved when requested/required but not micromanaging. Support staff are encouraged to visit customers when it's appropriate, giving the opportunity to meet the staff and people you support. This also affords you the ability to far better understand users queries and also to spend time away from your desk being hands on. Any associated costs are covered. The company is very motorcycle friendly with the director being an enthusiast. Ground anchors are provided to secure your bike and there is even a specially provided heated motorcycle clothing rack.

Cons

Public transport is not great. The company headquarters is located in an industrial estate, there is a bus stop approximately 15 minutes away but the buses aren't reliable. Again as a result of the office being located in an industrial estate the nearby options for lunch are fairly limited although the ones that are near aren't terrible. If you drive you can reach nearby towns such as Wickford or Rayleigh fairly quickly and these offer much more choice. Sometimes the roads on the estate can be busy causing difficulty parking, although this isn't usually an issue provided you're starting at a normal time.
