Pros

Small company, forward thinking approach to flexible working.

Cons

Inexperienced ‘middle management’ team with little commercial or people experience. Low morale amongst the team. Leadership team were passionate and creative, but they have lost their mojo and are now a bit fractured.

Pros

Open minded welcoming work environment where you are encouraged to grow through access to flexible working, training & approachable management. A company where you can try different roles to see if an alternative career path suits you better. River has an incredible range of clients to work with. It has offices which are bright & warm with comfortable furniture, good parking & the social events are well organised & very popular.

Cons

Whilst i personally have no "Cons" to report i can also understand that nobody's perfect, it is a busy expanding company, there will be some workload distribution/ personality clashes but if you ask for help, it does not get ignored and you can move to a more suitable position or team or management will hire some temp staff if required.

Pros

Opportunities are what you make them. There's often nobody with experience to pick up the torch, but if you're willing and try hard enough there will be space for you to try things. The people are lovely, which managers rely on cultivating in order to see the job as worthwhile - without them, it's not. Flexibile working is offered, but is never truly flexible. The expectation is mostly that you'll crunch to deliver at your own expense. Sacrifice plays are never rewarded.

Cons

Fear of failure is rife, as it is not a comfortable environment if you do. People have found themselves forced into review periods and let go on trumped-up charges. People are often found to be at fault rather than process. They say all of the right words to sell Employee Engagement and Business Intelligence without practicing anything they preach. Their internal analysis is poor at best and figures are massaged to provide a hollow smokescreen of job security for employees. Employee satisfaction is met with hollow and cheap attempts at bribery where colleagues are pit against eachother in an attempt to gain recognition and the quiet and hard workers are frequently overlooked for the sake of the popularity contest.
