Pros

There are lots of reasons I enjoy working at RSM. First and foremost are the people. The people here are friendly and make me feel part of a team. I also like the fact that I am given opportunities to learn and grow in my position. As I have gained new job skills, I have been rewarded for my efforts. Furthermore, my employers make me feel appreciated. They have been known to treat us to lunch, celebrate birthdays and work anniversaries, and have held occasional social events at the office. All of these things help make this a relaxed and friendly environment to work in. Also, my employers have always been upfront and honest with me and they do their best to keep lines of communication open. Overall, I feel that RSM is a great place to work and I would recommend it to anyone.

Cons

There have been a few bumps in the road as the company has grown, but this is to be expected.

Pros

The best part about working for the company is the overall work environment. It’s a small company in a small town (main street setting) that has a professional and progressive culture without sacrificing a flexible work/life balance. The work can be both creative and production oriented so there is ample opportunity to freely design as well as pass the day away with production oriented work. The feedback loop is rather quick with a small company like this, which helps create a collaborative environment as long as you can take direction for quality control purposes. There is opportunity to expand your responsibilities here if you are a good worker (show up, contribute, don’t abuse privileges, etc.). It is also an excellent environment for an entry level position because there is some on-the-job training available. Although small, the company provides all of the basic structure for a reasonable work environment that most other small companies do (employee manual, project tracking, reliable payroll, etc.). Essentially, if you are a reasonable person and worth being employed you will find this company to be a pleasant place to work.

Cons

The small company environment is not always for everyone. The usual drawbacks apply such as a quiet office, self-direction, etc. so they value employees who can get work done with little supervision. Owner operated so team members will be owners of the company. May be difficult for those who cannot handle direct feedback (necessity for quality control). Growing pains - with a small company comes small problems. Administration can be spread thin at times, but this is to be expected and rarely adversely affects employees.

Pros

Started working at 9am is the only positive thing I can think of.

Cons

Owners changed policies weekly, won't pay overtime or give you comp time. Bad environment to work in. Atmosphere is very uncomfortable.

Just to clarify, policies in our handbook are rarely changed and only done so when necessary to streamline and simplify our procedures. Also, we do pay overtime; however, overtime is rare considering our office hours are based on a 40 hour work week. Overall, our goal here is to create a friendly and rewarding work environment for our employees.
