Pros

Rippling is the definition of a fast growing environment, which of course comes with all the pain points you'd imagine. Overall, the company vision and leadership has been strong and has made the right calls, especially in terms of getting pivotal features to market in time. Rippling still retains a startup feel, and somehow gets a lot of output with relatively small teams. I personally have appreciated the transparency and even the education provided, for things like finances. It's helped me gain insight into how a company makes business-driven decisions, and especially of the things you'd need to consider to grow a late-stage startup. Engineer culture has generally remained excellent to this day, with a shared sense of responsibility for the product. One thing I keep seeing is that the org is able to react very quickly and effectively. There's a lot of potential for the company, as long as people take the reigns and make impact. It definitely feels like I and my teammates have been given the direct opportunity to determine the long term success of the company.

Cons

Due to the fast growing environment, I would say that Rippling is not for everyone. You need to be responsive and competent, and navigating the complexity of what has been built so far can be demanding. On the org side of things, I think it's scaled fairly well, but it's important to understand that things are a work in progress. The company is fairly frugal, which is definitely a pro but sometimes you wish there was more resourcing. Headcount always doesn't seem enough for what our team, at least, is responsible for. This isn't necessarily the company's fault, but just noting it as a reality. Also, though the company weathered through the tech industry's layoffs in 2023 (we were still hiring), we did have performance-based layoffs, which I wish wasn't as heavy as it was. Some folks were not as senior, but still pivotal in keeping the ship afloat with their knowledge and context. One final note is that though I believe there's a lot of opportunity to excel and level up your career here, it's not always apparent how to gain the mentorship to get there. You definitely need a lot of drive if you're seeking that.

Pros

I have only been at Rippling for a month at this point, but so far so good! The onboarding and training are top tier. Definitely the best and most in depth training I have gotten at a company. My manager is great and was also an IC at Rippling for a couple years before moving into management which I really like because they understand what it is like to be an account manager here. There seems to be a lot of opportunity for career growth here. I am definitely excited to be here!

Cons

Not really a con but you HAVE to be self sufficient here. People are willing to help but they are also very busy so it might be a while before you get a response to a question. It was an adjustment at first but I think it makes you a better employee. If you need hand holding probably not the job for you. I don't really have any true cons yet, but ask me again in 6 months lol.
