Pros
1. Access to multiple instruments - high tech instruments are available to anyone on campus that has been trained. You can look up the instruments on sea.rice.edu 2. A collaborative atmosphere is fostered there, so it is easy to approach unknown groups to discuss new ideas for your research or to propose a new one. 3. Of course this depends on the faculty you work with, but innovative ideas are encouraged and you are able to pursue them. 4. Located in an area called the village where different types of restaurants are available for eating. 5. Library is great. If it can not provide access to the materials you need in house or through interlibrary loan, it will buy the materials you need.
Cons
1. The parking is expensive. 2. On campus food for fellows is not the best.
