Pros

Steady employment 30 years of employment

Cons

Company didn’t re bid on contract with Metro Vancouver. Contract ended March 2,2025. The company owes employees vacation pay and refuses to pay. They are in serious breach of contract. Terrible legacy to leave behind. Unprofessional Corporation.

Thank you for taking the time to post. We understand that transitions can be challenging - however, we’re proud that all employees previously with Reworld™ at Burnaby were retained by the new contractor, ensuring continuity of employment for the team. Regarding the concern raised about vacation pay, we can confirm that all accrued vacation pay was processed and paid out in accordance with local employment laws and contractual obligations. We took care to ensure full compliance with all wage and benefit requirements during the transition. At this point, any ongoing employment-related matters at the Burnaby facility fall under the responsibility of the new contract holder. Again, we recognize that change can be difficult, and we remain committed to treating all employees and partners with respect and integrity. Thank you again.

Pros

The shift supervisor role consists of busy days with a lot of varying priorities. You are responsible for emissions regulation, work permits, specialized permits, managing changing plant conditions, and administrative personnel requirements. This can be a high-octane role but has a more relaxed period on night shift and when outages aren't occurring (planned shutdowns for maintenance). Expect to drive plant performance and employee development. Many opportunities for professional and personal development if you put the time in.

Cons

The plant culture will play a huge role in your quality of life, since most of your time will be at the plant. This can be good or bad. Quite a few managers do not engage or develop personnel due to various qualities. You will have to do the leg work in fostering a change for personnel development.
